Content creator Rezende Evil is teaming up with esports organization Red Canids

Brazilian esports organization Red Canids Kalunga announced that popular content creator Pedro ‘Rezende Evil’ Afonso has joined as one of its owners.

With 30.7 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, Rezende joins Red Canids to specifically focus on the organization’s content industry.

Red canids have achieved both competitive and commercial success in recent years.

The organization has sponsorship deals with well-known brands such as Outback Steakhouse, Bank Santander and the streaming platform Crunchyroll. Additionally, the Red Canids have won two of the last four Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL) splits since becoming a franchise in 2021. The organization also field rosters in Honor of Kings, VALORANT, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The organisation, which is estimated to be worth R$80m (approx £12.57m), caught the attention of Afonso: “Having followed the scene for a long time, I have always been amazed at how engaged the community is is. In addition, RED Canids has a long history, which is not achieved overnight.

“It will be a very big challenge to join the Matilha [as Red Canids’ community is known] and lead the content production.”

The entire negotiations lasted about eight months before an agreement could be reached. Afonso also brings his own agency called ADR Agência to work with Red Canids Kalunga.
