Arce already has experience managing an esports organization. Before joining XSET, he was Co-General Manager at Ghost Gaming, where he was responsible for over 60 professional players and coaches. He also had experience as a caster, covering a range of esports and working with companies such as Epic Games and Alienware, Dell’s gaming division.
“It’s important to me to stay ahead of the curve in the gaming and esports industry,” Arce said in a press release. “For me, that means making sure that players don’t just exist in games, but that they have the opportunity to shape the culture.
“I’ve found success by making real connections and staying true to my purpose of caring about people in the gaming world. XSET works just like me, they care about their fans and players and strive to change the way organizations work.”

Greg Selkoe, Co-Founder and CEO of XSET, commented on the reasons considered for promoting Arce: “Even during his time as Operations Manager, Jacob has proven to be an integral part of the development of XSET.”
“Jacob’s genuine love for gaming and making sure players can thrive is what we at XSET believe in. His authenticity combined with his knowledge and strong work ethic makes Jacob the right person to take on the role of Head of Esports as we continue to add a number of new teams and players to our roster in 2023.”
Arce’s promotion was announced days after David Luce had been hired as XSET’s new Chief Content Officer and co-owner and Chief Experience Officer Rob Martin left the organisation, indicating a period of restructuring is currently underway.
