Rear Admiral Toribio Adaci, Jr. takes over as Navy Chief

(Eagle News) – Rear Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr. is the new flag officer of the Philippine Navy.

Adaci took up his new post on Thursday 24 November, replacing Rear Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia, who was the acting chief.

In his speech, Adaci said the modernization of the naval defense forces would continue under his leadership.

“At the same time, by harmonizing policy differences, we will increase the suitability of our staff according to their areas of expertise,” he said.

He said he would also “push for the continuation of existing international engagements.

He would also “work towards expanding our cooperation with regional navies, of course in line with our foreign policy orientation”.

The Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Bartolome Bacarro attended the handover ceremony.
