French esports organization Team Vitality has launched an iOS and Android mobile application called V.Hive as part of its existing partnership with Web3 company Tezos.

According to Vitality, the app, which will be billed as “support-to-earn,” will offer unique rewards to Vitality fans and serve to educate users about Web3.

Tezos is a blockchain company that has partnered with several major esports players, including Misfits Gaming Group and McLaren Racing.

The app allows Vitality fans to earn rewards by interacting and supporting the team on social media and in person. These rewards include special merchandise, access to events, and interaction with Team Vitality players. Users can create digital avatars inspired by the Vitality bee logo in the app.

The app itself has been in the works since the two brands signed a partnership in January. According to Vitality, the rollout has been phased, with phase one beginning in July with the launch of the V.Hive Pass and phase two beginning in October and ending with the product launch.

In addition to the rewards for supporting the team, Vitality and Tezos claim that the V.Hive app also has an educational purpose by educating users about Web3 and blockchain technologies.

Educational opportunities are prominent in Web3, blockchain and crypto partnerships in esports.

The application’s launch is part of a broader partnership between Vitality and Tezos, which was announced in January and named Tezos as its key technical partner.

The partnership comes less than a week after cryptocurrency exchange FTX filed for bankruptcy, which resulted in TSM and FURIA suspending and terminating their partnerships with the crypto giant amid a broader downturn in the cryptocurrency market.

Nicolas Maurer, CEO of Team Vitality said: “We are so proud to finally launch our own app V.Hive! Our fans are digitally native and incredibly demanding when it comes to new technologies and platforms. So when we design V.Hive with Tezos, every feature we create or introduce must bring them real and exclusive value.

“We believe that Web3 and blockchain will play an important role in the future of the esports and gaming industry and we can’t wait to work even more closely with our amazing community.”
