VCT Game Changers is a VALORANT sports event for female gamers organized by Riot Games. The championship is the culmination of the season that started in January.

The inaugural VCT Game Changers Championship is also the second most watched women-only eSports event on record. The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational, taking place earlier this year, currently holds the top spot, having recorded a peak count of 392,405.

G2 Gozen – the team that went on to win the tournament – recorded the highest average attendance (149,500) of any team in the competition. Meanwhile, Shopify Rebellion secured the most watched hours (2.8 million). The event drew a total of 5.4 million hours of viewership and averaged 114,914 viewers over its 47-hour runtime.

VCT Game Changers’ biggest event of the year took place in-person at the LEC Studio in Berlin, Germany. The $500,000 offline event, which was also attended by an audience, included sponsors such as Verizon, Secretlab, HyperX, Aim Lab and Red Bull, among others.

The event far exceeded the attendance of previous VCT Game Changer events. Prior to this global event, VCT 2022: Game Changers East Asia was the most popular women-only VALORANT event, garnering only 66,271 viewers.

Further development of the VCT Game Changers program by Riot Games is expected to continue in 2023. After debuting its women-centric esports ecosystem in 2021, the series has been strengthened this year with the launch of the global event.

For next year, ahead of the championship, Riot Games announced a partnership with Knights, where the Pittsburgh-based esports organization will host the North American Game Changers leagues. This will be done through the Knights Arena of the organizing event.
